Opened in the winter of 2004, Dos Casas was originally a family home renovated by architect Alberto Laposse with the help of architect, Gabor Goded and interior designer, Giovanni Carrara.

In the fall of 2006, the Wine Bar at Dos Casas opened providing an intimate gathering place for guests of the hotels and San Miguel de Allende locals.
